Bralorne Gold Mines Reports 36.5 Meters of 35.23 Grams Per Tonne Gold

Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd (TSX.V: BPM) owns a 100% interest in a land package comprised of 2,490 hectares of mineral properties located in the Lillooet Mining Divisionin British Columbia. The properties consist of 154 crown granted mineral claims, two reverted crown granted claims, eight metric unit claims and ten freehold parcels of land collectively known as the ‘Bralorne Property’.

According to vice president David Wolfin, “the company is developing significant 4 kilometer gaps between the former and very successful Bralorne, Pioneer and King gold mines which are rich with history, data and potential. From 1928 to 1971, these three operations produced 4.15 million ounces of gold from 7.2 million tonnes of ore (equaling a grade of 0.58 ounces per tonne). Bralorne, Pioneer and King represent the largest historic gold producers in the Canadian Cordillera. The company remains well funded with no long-term or short-term debt.”

Bralorne’s exploration has focused on the unexplored gaps between the historic Bralorne, King and Pioneer gold mines. A review of the 2008 surface drill program and 3 D modeling helped the company identify three new possible parallel structures in addition to the known BK and Alhambra veins.

An updated NI 43-101 report prepared by Dr. Matt Ball in June 2009 contains an estimate for the BK Zone at the 800 level. According to Dr. Ball, the estimated total contained gold is 77,750 ounces. This estimate will likely be updated after more in-depth analysis of recent exploration work completed on the BK vein.

Recently Bralorne reported the results from the second of two raises driven on the BK vein to define the gold mineralized shoots above the 800 Level. The raises were driven from the drift level to confirm the grade and the limits of potentially economic mineralization encountered in two sections of the drift in 2008.

According to Wolfin, “the western raise was driven to a total of 36.5 meters. The grade of the vein from 15 assay traverses ranges from 1.54 to 136.97 grams per tonne with an average grade of 35.23 grams per tonne over a true width of 0.8 meters. The grade of the zone over a minimum mining width of 1.2 meters averages 25.2 grams per tonne uncut, or 22.9 grams per tonne using the historical mine cutting procedure of reducing assays over 3.0 to 3.0 ounces per tonne. The results are comparable to the average grade of the same mineralized shoot on the 800 Level drift, which is 24.8 grams per tonne over 1.3m along a strike length of 53.9 meters. The vein at the top of the raise is mineralized, indicating that the raise did not reach the upper limit of the gold mineralization.”

In anticipation of future production Bralorne has completed 85 meters of an extraction drift on the BK vein area. The company reported that it is continuing to develop another 110 meters of draw points which when completed will allow its crews to start stoping the ore zone to stockpile a targeted 27,000 tonnes of ore which will provide the company with a year’s worth of production.

These are exciting developments for Bralorne adding to its previously announced (February 1, 2010) eastern raise exploration work on the BK area which was driven a length of 29 meters. “The grade of the vein from 11 assay traverses ranges from 2.78 to 60.7 grams per tonne with an average grade of 20.7 grams per tonne over a true width of 0.6 meters. The average grade of the zone over a nominal mining width of 1.2 meters is 11.9 grams per tonne,” according to Bralorne. The BK area exploration results are very encouraging.

Other work confirmed a new unexpected vein that was cross cut in a new 400 Level Adit. According to Bralorne, “The vein was encountered at 60 meters from the portal, just east of historic workings on the Coronation or 77 vein. The vein showed a banded texture that is characteristic of ore-bearing veins in the camp so it was explored by drifting to the east 7.3 metersand west 11 meters of the cross-cut. The grade of the vein from 10 assay traverses ranges from 0.79 to 66.65 grams per tonne with an average grade of 9.95 grams per tonne over a true width of 0.8 meters. The grade of the zone over a minimum mining width of 1.2 meters averages 4.4 grams per tonne over an average width of 1.3 meters. Top cutting was not required as there were no extreme high assays. The vein is interpreted to be a split off of the main Coronation. Further investigation is planned to determine its potential extensions.”

Bralorne’s website states, “Recent discoveries between the Bralorne and King mines have opened up significant new mineralization. Phase III exploration, now underway, is focused on expanding new zones and outlining reserves for a 280 tonne per day operation. The current Bralorne mill operates at 120 tonnes per day with ample room for expansion. Bulk testing is complete with all permits in place.”
